Clans & Kingdoms

Clans are Grinweld's guilds: shared chat, purchasable PvE buffs, a treasury fed by a tax on members' kills, and — at the top end — a kingdom settled in a special zone with structures you build and defend.

Joining & founding

Action Level Cost
Join a clan 100 1,000,000g (you) + 1,000,000g (clan accepts)
Found a clan 300 10,000,000g (from your bank)
Leave free
Boot a member free (leader)

You manage clans at a Clan Hall POI — the Hall of Banners in the capital, Lanternreach. Each clan has a leader and a co-leader.

Clan bonuses (PvE only)

Clans buy bonuses — buffs that apply only versus monsters, never in PvP. Notes:

  • Up to 3 bonuses active at once.
  • Leaders get 1.25× the effect of each bonus.
  • Each change costs 1,000,000g, so plan your loadout.

These make group PvE grinding meaningfully faster, but they deliberately stay out of player-vs-player fights, keeping PvP about individual skill/gear.

Clan power

Clan power is derived from members' levels via a step table. It's the gate for building kingdom structures — a bigger, higher-level roster unlocks more. Recruit and level up to grow it.

Kingdoms

A clan can settle one kingdom in a special kingdom zone — at launch, The Hollow Court (level 300, PK). A kingdom supports three structure slots:

Slot Examples / effect
Defence fortifies your kingdom
Mine grants members a small extra gem drop channel (requires ≥5% tax); also trickles passive treasury income
Misc other utility structures
  • Each structure costs 5,000,000g, and swapping a structure repays the full price — choose deliberately.
  • Because the Hollow Court is a PK zone, holding a kingdom means defending it.

Tax & the treasury

Clans levy a tax of 1–49% on every member's kill gold, routed to the clan treasury (leaders withdraw). Trade-offs:

  • Higher tax fills the treasury faster but lowers members' take-home gold.
  • The Mine structure needs ≥5% tax to yield its bonus gems, so even low-tax clans usually keep a little.

The treasury funds bonuses, structures, and accepting new members.

Chat

Clan chat shares a channel with race chat — use the /r prefix to speak to your race instead of your clan. See Social & Chat.

Should you join or found?

  • Join (level 100): the easy path — instant access to bonuses, chat, and (if your clan has one) a kingdom's mine, for a 1M buy-in.
  • Found (level 300): for organizers — 10M and the responsibility of recruiting, setting tax, and building/defending a kingdom. Worth it once you have a roster to build clan power with.
