The World

The Thornmere is a graph of zones, each a non-wrapping coordinate grid you walk one tile at a time (N/S/E/W). Tiles hold POIs (shops, banks, shrines…) and monster spawns. Everything radiates out from one hub: Lanternwatch Cross.

Travel between non-adjacent zones is done from a Shrine (teleport for a flat 20,000g, destination must meet your level).

The zones

Thornmere Verge — starting zone · min level 1 · safe

"The briars part just enough to let you through." A 6×6 starter where every character begins. Has the essentials: Mosslight Shrine, Hall of the Verge (rank), The Hedgewright's Edge (shop, IC 0–3), The Glimmer Stall (magic shop), Rootvault Bank, The Verge Notice-Post (quests). Connects to Lanternwatch Cross.

Lanternwatch Cross — the hub · min level 15 · PK · 10×10

"Five roads, one truce, and no witnesses." The crossroads that connects the whole world and your first PvP zone. Has the most services anywhere: The Watchflame (shrine), Hall of Crossings (rank), Tollhouse Arms (shop, IC 3–9), The Pale Chandlery (magic shop), The Strongroot (bank), Crossroads Exchange (Trading Post), The Setting Bench (enchanter), and The Conflux Engine (fusion). Sells the Wisplight Charm & Tithe-Coin accessories.

The Mossback Warrens — tank training · min level 10 · safe · 6×6

"Low tunnels, patient stone, and things that forgive nothing slowly." A tank archetype zone full of slow, beefy, low-power mobs — the place to train Armour and Doublehit mastery safely. Minimal services (a shrine, the Sleeper Stone).

The Sunken Stairs — caster training · min level 30 · safe · 8×8

"The stairs descend. The water sings the low notes." A caster archetype zone (monsters lean on spells), good for casters and for training WIS defence. Has a shop (IC 7–13), the Chantry of Wet Candles magic shop, a bank, and shrine. Sells the Hawkfeather Band & Briarward Knot accessories.

Gallowfen Deep — progression, loot-rich · min level 60 · safe · 8×8

"The fen counts its crop. You are not on the ledger — yet." A fast archetype zone (monsters get extra strikes) with a ×1.5 drop multiplier — the best loot farming in the seed world. Home to the Temple of the Hollow King (mythics), a high-IC shop (11–20), and the Gravedigger's Token accessory.

Lanternreach — the capital · min level 100 · no combat · 7×7

"The banners remember every name but yours — so far." A safe city with no monsters. Home of the Hall of Banners (clan hall), the Grand Strongroot bank, the Lanternreach Exchange trading post, a rank hall, and the commission (quests). Your endgame social & economic hub.

The Hollow Court — endgame PvP / kingdoms · min level 300 · PK · 8×8

"Thrones for the taking, graves for the slow." An evil-aligned PK zone where clans settle kingdoms. High stakes: kills here shift you toward evil alignment, and there's open PvP over territory. Sparse services (the Throne Shard shrine, the Crown Vault bank).

The Briar Stocks — the jail · 4×4 · no drops

"The briars hold what the law forgets." The jail zone. You only end up here via a moderator's action; while jailed, drops are off and rewards are quartered. See Social & Chat.

Getting around

  • Walk one tile per step (a small ~0.4s movement cooldown paces it).
  • Teleport from any shrine to another for 20,000g, if you meet the destination's min_level.
  • All roads meet at Lanternwatch Cross — it's the natural home base for shopping, enchanting, trading, and jumping to a progression zone.
